Breastfeeding and work

How to stay relaxed and flexible

The reason of weaning is not necessarily to wean. Instead, the reason remains that your kid will miss you during your absence. Some amount of organization is required. It is significant to inform your employer in advance that you are willing to breastfeed your baby.

If you are willing to express your milk, you should start expressing around two weeks before first day of work so that you can easily build up a supply. You can get a pump on rent or can buy one. Our recommendation is the compact Ardo Calypso breastpump. If you express at work, you can carry it easily in a separately available discrete breastfeeding bag. You can also keep the milk cool on your way home in the Ardo Cool Bag. You can also express directly into an Ardo Easy Freeze, which saves storage space.

Your rights at work

You can continue breastfeeding, when you return to work and are willing to continue breastfeeding. You usually have the right to the time needed for breastfeeding or expressing milk (legally guaranteed in certain countries). If you are in doubt, contact your breastfeeding or lactation consultant, midwife or the relevant organization.
