Breastfeeding time and weaning

How long should Breastfeeding be continue?

As per recommendations, during the first 6 months, the infant should be fed exclusively with breast milk during the first 6 months. The mother’s milk contains everything that is required for healthy growth. After 6 months, you should start giving solid food to baby as well. Breastfeeding can be then gradually replaced by solids. The WHO (World Health Organization) and UNICEF recommend to continue breastfeeding up to the second year of life. Breastfeed is for as long as you and your baby want to.

Weaning?

The weaning process takes around 14 days. The breast milk diminishes graduallythrough slowly reducing the breastfeeding meal frequencies and lengths. It means that the child will be only briefly breastfed, or the breast will only provide a small quantity of milk before the mother feels an uncomfortable strain in her breast.
